What size tire for the front of a 4000 3cyl

Right now my 68 4000 has 7.50-16 on the front and seems to st way too high. Is the original tire a 6.00-16 for this tractor.

Mine has 7.5 x 15 on the front and 11.2 x 38 rears

6.00x16 was standard, but there were
options, including 7.50x16 (my son's '65
4000 has them, and 13.6x38 rears) and
7.50x18.
What size rears does yours have? Short
rears will affect the stance as much as
tall fronts.

I have 16.9-30s on the rear now and it sits high in the front.

One thing I've noticed with tires for either the front, or rear is that the height of the tires vary quite a bit depending on who made them. I've seen 13.6x28's that varied almost 4" in height depending on who made them.

4000 sets high in the front
Dropping down to a 6.00-16 will lower the front 2 inches but the tires are narrow and require a narrower rim
A better option is the 7.5L-15 that is same height as a 6.00 but is as wide as a 7.50
When Ford introduced the 4600 that replaced the 4000 the only front tire they offered was the 7.50-16

Can you recommend a good place to get the 15 rim. I need to buy new rims anyway. One is 3.5 bs and its way to close to the knee

Most any tire shop that works on Ag tires can get rims
Im thinking you need 15x6 1/2 rims for 7.5L-15 tires
