871 tractor Manuals

Hey guys, my first post here. I just bought a 1961 871 with a two arm loader. I want to change all the fluids before I use it so I need an owners manual and a repair manual for this thing. Does anyone know where I can find these? I've looked on ebay but most of those don't cover the 871.

The Owner's Manual says 601/801 on the cover. The Service Manual covers all 4 cylinder Fords from 1955-1964. Reprints of both manuals are listed on ebay at any given time. I believe they are both offered on this website.

Just to add some info. It has been repoprted that some of the Manuals are of poor quality, so be careful what you buy off e-bay. Try external_link at 877-342-2006.

Also, I would get the Master Parts Catalog too. It has good diagrams of the various components which helps you to see how everything goes together.

I contacted two of the sellers on ebay about those owner manuals and they both said the 871 is not included.

Jim.UT was kind enough to give us a rundown on all of the different Owner's Manuals recently and sure enough he noted that the version of the O.M. that is most commonly offered in reprint, the "C" version, does not cover the SOS transmission. You need a copy of SE 6085-E, F or G.

If it's not offered in reprint (there are several reprint sellers on ebay) you'll have to watch ebay for an original copy.

Ok, I'll just have to keep looking. Thanks for all the input. I'm sure I'll have a lot more questions in the near future.

Ric please keep us posted. I recently purchased a '59 871 and will be interested in finding decent manuals covering operation, servicing, & sos transmission details on this tractor. Have to keep an eye out for the SE 6085-E, F or G versions. Got lots to learn about the 801 series. Thanks, Steve

Most of them do cover the 871. They just don't say so. Click here: [b:f4aa5c42a5]871 Service Manual[/b:f4aa5c42a5]

If your transmission has been upgraded (many were) you'll also need this one: [b:f4aa5c42a5]SOS Supplement[/b:f4aa5c42a5]

Here's the owner's manual as well: [b:f4aa5c42a5]601 801 Owner's Manual[/b:f4aa5c42a5]
