Front end loader

Front end loader on ford 4000 model and serial# plate are gone .need hydraulic lift cylinder repair. How do I determine model number

Well simple description as a Ford 4000 covers a vast array of models ... four cylinder, three cylinder, agricultural, industrial etc. I looked at your previous posts in the archives and it seems you have a 1963 41300D Light Industrial. If this is the tractor in question my first guess would be a Ford 724 loader. Search the web and see if pictures match what you have. Also posting a picture would help.

Make sure you tell them to pressure check them first. I took 2 really good factory cylinders to a shop in Plant City, Fl and asked them if they could put new seals in them. They screwed one of them up by putting too much heat on it and welded the end back on. And they must have put the rods in a vice because they sanded almost all the hard chrome on one of them off trying to clean up the scars of their work. $750 later, took them home and my loader still leaks down, I think it's the control valve as that's all that's left. They didn't check them before working on them. I could have done a better job myself. So much for some professionals.
