question on color continued

Originally I posted a question about throttle rod color and I rec'd a response about control rods have no color. Is that true
for all rods on both the engine and tractor itself. I noticed that there is also a governor rod, a choke rod and another rod
going to the back left side of the tractor. Is it safe to assume that any long rod on the tractor should just be cleaned and not
primed/painted? THanks in advance.

Dude - think about the manufacturing procedure. The cast iron and sheet metal parts were all painted before assembly on the line. As component were installed, there would be a crate or box from the vendor already at the specific work station and the operator simply pulled what part he needed and assembled it. Components like starters, generators, carbs, governors, and many others would be painted by the vendor at their plant. For example,a carb would be installed with body already painted and all of its parts assembled as new after it was painted. The carb box of parts arrived at FORD and then pulled to be installed on the tractor going down the line. The next station might have the next operator installing the carb linkages so he pulled his bin of connecting rods or whatever and assembled. Your tractor, your call what color and whatever you want to paint it.
