Ignition Switch

I was going to order an ignition switch for my Jubilee from this site and it only has 2 wires. The one on it now has terminals with more that 2 wires on it. Should I get a different switch or not and how would I wire it up? It's switched to 12 volts. Thanks in advance.

a lot of more common switches now have a lug for the spring loaded start position... in which case you would not use that lug... By using this switch, they can stock a switch that fits more tractors and is therefore cheaper.. and maybe better, as the original switch was known to go intermittent.

No way I would use a aftermarket tractor switch I would go to napa and get a KS6041 life will be good.

That KS6041 switch is made by Echlin and sold by NAPA. What about it is not "aftermarket" for a 60+ year old Ford tractor?

I guess you got me there...

I would use a more reliable switch from NAPA other than a tractor parts supplier switch where low bidder got the contract.. I have a box full of new Tisco/Sparex switches they are all junk... Every one I have installed in the last 15 years has failed none of the NAPA switches have.

Its the intermittent nature of them breaking the contact just out of the blue its not worth the risk.

I agree that Echlin is a much more reliable brand in automotive electronics these days than most. As you said, most other brands like Tisco, etc. outsource and go for the lowest bidder these days.
