Ford 3600 rear hydraulic level / removed the wrong plug

I was attempting to check the rear hydraulic level but I removed
the wrong plug. I removed the pan head screw that is below and to
the right of the actual plug your supposed to take out. The screw will not thread back in. I was wondering if anyone can tell me how much I screwed up?? I'm guessing the screw was holding something on the inside of the oil reservoir?

No biggie. Drain a little oil out of the rear axle, remove the cover with the 4 bolts on the LH side, and peer inside. You'll quickly figure
out where it goes. Have an assistant help you thread the screw in while you line up the bracket.

You've joined the club. The screw holds a retainer for the hydraulic line inside the housing. It slides down the tube when you take the screw out. All you have to do is find the retainer and put it back in position.

Thank you both for the replies! I had noticed that round cover plate on the other side but was a little gun shy of taking it off,I didnt want to compound my screw-up. Is there some sort off gasket I will need to get for putting the cover plate back on or can I just use RTV?? And thanks again Bern and Eman85

I almost did that on my 2000. Saw a little stream of fluid leaking. I knew it wasn't the level plug and started to unscrew it then noticed whatever is was screwed into
was loose so I tightened it up. It has a plastic washer under the head. Make sure yours is there.
