Ford 861 now won't start when pulled

Was hard to start, now won't. Blew air back thru tank strainer, new filter, fuel gushes out. Broke lines to injectors, pulled for 5 minutes in hi gear, will not even squirt other than a drip or two.

Intrigued re: something stuck. Will rap on it. Also will check for return line blockage, as DieselTECH says that can cause pump to shut down.

Where is the fuel gushing out? What tells you that something is stuck? Is it something on the tractor?

Many possibilities here:

1. Have you bled the pump?

2. How long's it been since a pump overhaul? If a long time, the governor retaining ring may be disintegrated or be disintegrating and plugging the return line.

3. If the tractor has not run for a while, the metering valve may be stuck in the shut off position.
