Ford 641 Wiring Image

Anyone out there have a pic of their wiring job before sheet metal installation? I want to see how you routed the wires as I'm beginning from scratch and it is a 6 to 12 volt conversion. Thanks!

I don't have a pic, but you could use a pic of the wiring from any Ford XX1 model. 601,741, 801, 901, etc. and any of the sub models. there are insignificant differences.

I've done a bunch of Fords. Finally used
all my artist skills and made a
sketch......lol

Bought everything at the auto parts
store. Easy to do. Couple hours

Ok, guess I wasn't clear in my request. I would like a pic of the actual wiring after a 12 volt conversion has been completed. How all the wires/cables are routed and
secured. I'm trying to avoid waste and having to do something over to suit myself. If I have a good reference, I'll feel more comfortable completing the job. I don't want
to end up with something like the attached photo. Yeah, its an N tractor. Thanks!

If you want it for an N then you should request for an N instead of a 641. You would get responses.

hat is only the second time I have seen that alternator mounting used! The first was in person! I wish I had some pictures that answer your question, bit I don't and even the FO-20 I&T manual only has one that gives a hint....from dash area the wires are together in a bundle (tape or braid?) and pass down behind battery on right side. Not much to see. I expect that in front of battery box they split left to generator and to right for temp sensor and ign coil. Sorry that I don't have more for you.

...no idea if picture is as from factory after all these years?

I think that he posted that picture of the bad wiring job on the N just as an example of a bad job. I believe he is looking for a photo of a clean wiring job for a 12 volt conversion for a 641 as he originally asked, but the only "picture" that has been posted so far was a hand drawn wiring diagram, which is not what he is looking for.

(quoted from post at 11:46:40 09/04/21) Here I am so far. Pre-lubed the motor and spun it over with the starter. Now for the ignition, etc.

I am pretty sure that the solenoid goes on the battery box behind the air intake tube. At least that is where it is on my 960 and 961.

It sounds like you are going for the original look. If that is the case you would want to see if you can find some more red paint to paint all the bolts and nuts and the starter and starter button. During factory assembly they assembled all of the chassis before painting it so nearly all of the nuts and bolts got painted at the same time. The sheet metal, seat, radiator and shroud, wiring, battery, carburetor and the throttle and governor linkages and tires and wheels and exhaust pipe were added after the red paint was dry.

I plan to detail paint all the fasteners soon. I just want to get the tractor running and operational. Once I'm satisfied with the way it runs and how the
hydraulics work, I'll touch up areas as necessary. The sheet metal is still in primer. The rear wheel centers are still in primer. The brake hardware still needs
to be installed. The hydraulic controls need assembled and installed. Need to find a seat and bracket. Still a bunch of work to do but I can see light at the end
of the tunnel. I started this project about 25 years ago. Stuff would happen and it would get pushed to the back of the shop. Now we've moved to middle Tennessee
and I have a much bigger shop so if I can't work on it for a couple days, it doesn't have to get pushed in a corner. It was my Grandfather's tractor given to me
when he passed. Spent many hours on it with him.

Well if you did the Camaro and the old blue Ford it looks like this tractor should be beautiful!
