Ford 6000 is throwing out the hydraulic oil out of the oil tank breather on the top of the tank. It will do that till it almost empty's out the reservoir. Makes a mess while doing that also. Where should I start looking? Could it be a low charge on the accumulator tank?

I trust you're filling it using the proper procedure, which is all cylinders retracted and the accumulator discharged? That last one is important, I found that out the hard way.

If you're following the correct procedure on the oil level, I can think of no good reason why it would do that. Mine doesn't leak a drop after I figured out the accumulator thing.

Thanks Bern, I can not honestly say if the cylinders were retracted and the accumulator discharged when I filled the reservoir. I will try that. Another thing I noticed that the three point arms are hard to come down to the lowered position.

I have the same problem with my 3-point. That happens when they sit for a long time. The last time I used it, I had to force the arms down with a loader bucket. Once the 6-foot brush mower was attached, it worked fine.

As for the oil level, it's very important that the accumulator be discharged before you top off the oil level. If you don't, it will inevitably leak down and fill the reservoir overfull. I learned that lesson once, and only once. To discharge the accumulator, just stroke the brake pedals several times with the engine off.
