Since we got most of the tractor together and are waiting on a few parts, is there anything special we need to do when breaking in the engine or when we do a first start? Like; how long do you run the tractor before you need to change the oil or if I could use 15w 40 Rotella oil (or if something is needed) or do we need to idle then rase the rpm etc.. or am I forgetting something? Do we need to prime the oil pump or does the oil pump prime itself? Weve been waiting for this for awhile.

The oil pump primes itself, just make sure you check oil pressure and that you have some within a few seconds after starting.

As for the break-in process, don't let it idle a lot. Get it warm, check for leaks, and put it to work. Varying speeds and loads are best.
15W-40 Rotella is fine.
