Me and a friend are struggling with a rear main seal leak on his Ford 601 diesel 144 engine. We replaced it with neoprene 2 pc rubber and filled the
outside channels of the main cap with gasket sealer the first time with no luck. After this we heard that sometimes the gasket behind the cam gear plate
will go bad and start leaking. We used a 2 pc neoprene victor with special victor sealer the second time and also replaced the timing gear cover gasket
on the rear of engine with no luck. Went back the 3rd time with 2 pc rubber seal with the rubber strips and expansion shims in the sides of the main
cap, and it still leaks. After the 3rd time the leak wasnt as bad as the first two times but definitely bad enough to where it needs to be fixed. Anyone
been through this ordeal and found a fix?
