I have a 1989 445C tractor with 2012 verified hours. The Ford maintenance manual specifies a 600 hour interval to remove the injectors and have them serviced by the dealer. I have had this tractor for the last 200 hours and six years, and don't know when the injectors were last serviced
This tractor starts easily, burns clean with no visible smoke or slobber, and has great fuel economy. My question; is it necessary to do this service, or wait till I see evidence of injector issues. Tractor's working conditions are part throttle dirt and snow loader and scraper work. I use top tier diesel with PS Antigel additive in the winter and occasional use of PS Diesel Kleen in warm weather.
