641 front fender bolts.

Hi. I have a 1962 641 that I had to remove the hood for removal of the column. On re-installing hood, I see there is a second set of holes on the radiator support but the hood was bolted to the lower holes. The hood is worn where is was rubbing on the power steering pump lid. Which set of holes is correct for the 641? I recall some discussion on the holes for a 800 series but I didnt really pay it much mind.

The upper holes are for the 800/801 series; they had a larger gas tank.

In the picture you can see the steering wheel is really close to the dash panel.

The lowers then are for the 600/601 tractors.

You can see there is much more space between the steering wheel & the dash.

I would think you could mount on the upper holes if you wanted to.
Maybe others could chime in if there would be a fitment issue by doing that.

Upper holes on the front axle support for 801 & lowers holes for 601.

The 600/1 and 700/1 dash has the hole for the steering shaft in a slightly different location than does the 800/1 and 900/1 There are two different
dash panels. Something to keep in mind if you are thinking of using different mounting holes

Thanks for the replies. I re-used the lower holes and I have enough clearance at the pump. Unknown what the prior owner did to have the hood rub the power steering pump. I do see that the lower bolts were changed at one time. Possibly they had fallen out causing the hood to drop.
