Looking for Restoration Wiring Harness Routing Pics - 64

Good morning!

Would anyone be kind enough to share any pictures they may have of the correct wiring routing for the harness, especially front and rear lights, for a 600 series? I am in the process of restoring a 1957 640 and the parts diagrams are very small and lacking detail....and sometimes just too difficult to see. I'm just wanting to make sure I hit all of the major securement points along the chassis.

I believe I have all of the correct brackets and wiring clips, but a little clarity would go a long way!

Thank you in advance!

FORD never installed lights on tractors at the factory until the 800 Series and then only headlights were used. Until then, lighting kits were only available as a dealer supplied optional accessory. If you ordered a new tractor and wanted lights, the dealer could install them for you. Many farmers bought the kits and installed themselves but many were done incorrectly. Are you looking for the OEM 6V/POS GRN system or are you using a 12V switch out job? The OEM 53-59 MPC has a lighting kit diagram and the CLYMER/I&T FO-20 manual may have one too. Dennis Carpenter has excellent wiring harnesses as well as AGRI-SERVICES in NY. FWIW & FYI: Industry Standard 6V sealed beam headlamps are p/n 4019; and the 12V sealed beam lamps are p/n 4119. If you converted to 12V and you don't change to 12V lamps, once power is applied, you let the smoke out permanently. There is way to wire 6V lamps for a 12V source but not going into that here too confuse folks.

Thank you for the great information! So my 640 has the 12v conversion, including the headlamps and tail light. Once i complete painting and begin the assembly process, I have a brand new wiring harness to run the new headlamps, tail light, and work light. I will see if I can get any more detail from the sources you referenced above, but everything i've tried to look at so far is not terribly clear on how/where to fasten when used.

I was hoping that some other folks who had completed restorations happened to have some photos of these areas, or at least how they ran their wiring under the hood, on the back fender, across brake actuator shaft and down the chassis, etc.

Thank you, as always!
