three point hitch lift

kyhook

New User
When I am sitting on my 850 Ford with the engine idling, clutch depressed, bush hog raised slightly (to mowing height) , the bush hog slowly drifts down about an inch and then suddenly
raises back to its set position. This will occur about once per minute. Any thoughts as to what my problem may be.

Thanks very much
Ernie

It's called hiccups. Caused by internal leakage of the piston seal or other point(s) while the lift is raised. The leakage causes the lift to drift down and at a certain point correct. Although the piston seal is the main suspect it can also be leakage at the check valve, safety valve, control valve or various other points.
