A quick questionHave this Ford Tractor. Problem is , has the bent roundstock to raise-lower the rpm. It is hooked by some links, a special metal clip plate. Never has worked right . Is there anything that can be used to replace all this to make it work good. Tractor has the foot pedal, but no linkage for that. thanks

Oh boy, might be a quick question but no quick answer. 1801 Industrial had different throttle parts and foot throttle was standard. Link below goes to parts diagrams for 1801, see Fuel System then Throttle & Accelerator Controls for either gas or diesel depending on which you have. You can compare with what you have to see what you're missing but most parts are probably no longer available. Maybe others have some ideas on a solution to your problem.

I think you are asking if this can all be abandoned and replaced with something much simpler. Many tractors use a lever on the dash such as my little Ford 1620 or the internationals of old. Just a plain old front to back lever with a cable/rod to the pump.

I don't have an answer, I have the same problem on a 4140.
I am going to bypass the foot throttle and try to simplify the linkage straight to the dash lever. It is "on the LIST", but more demanding things keep popping up :(

If I get to it I'll post what I figure out, and I'll keep an eye on this thread to see what you come up with.
