Ford 3000 fuel shutoff valve

I have a 1966 Ford 3000, gas engine, that I'm trying to find the correct fuel shutoff valve for. The (what appears to be original) valve has a plastic stem which has broken off inside the valve housing and it is stuck in the closed position. I have tried four new replacement valves from different sources, (all shown to fit this application) and none will screw into the outlet on the bottom of the tank. The threads are 1/2 inch, tapered pipe threads and to the eye the replacements threads appear to be the same as the original valve but they are all just slightly too large. Has anyone else run upon this problem? I see that Yesterdays are listed as 1/2 inch pipe threads, has anyone tried them? Thanks in advance.
