Ford 532 oil pan removal

1975 532 with a 3 cylinder diesel. There is a bucket and a box blade on the tractor.

is it possible to remove the pan without splitting the tractor? meaning without undoing the front axle assembly and bucket?

i've read its possible to loosen the front bolts, cut them and then replace with a longer bolt?

not sure which ones to replace? the lower ones in the pan or the upper ones into the block?

is it possible to cut the ones in the pan that go into the front axle support assembly and replace those?

any ideas ?

CCW,
Your front end is the same as the older
3400s - a more familiar model here. You
might mention that in future posts about
it.
There are 2 bolts that attach the bolster
(axle mount)to the engine block. Loosen
them about 3/16 inch.
There are also two studs that attach the
bolster to the pan.
Remove the nuts on the studs and remove the
studs. Sometimes the studs come out with
the nuts. If not use a pipe wrench to
remove them. Then slide the bolster forward
about 3/16. Pan will then come out.
There is special washers on the studs -
between the bolster and pan. Don't lose
them.
If you booger up the threads on the studs
you can chase them with a file or replace
with bolts.
Don't forget the 2 big bolts that attatch
the back end of the pan to the transmission
need to come out.
All this is done with a jack lifting under
the front of transmission. Barely take the
weight off the front end.
Pan gasket Must be the thin paper type -
1/16in? Not thick cork one. Your New
Holland dealer should have one in stock.
Pan weighs at least 80 lbs and drops hard
and fast so be prepared.
Welcome to the board and let us know how it
goes.

thanks UltradogMN. Your front end is the same as the older
3400s thats a big help as i was having trouble finding any info about a 532.

Got it done! rod Bearing was shot on the front cylinder, # 1?. Got a new set from AGkit.

oil pan came down after I removed the lower studs in front. loosened the upper bolts, removed the rear big ones, the whole front of the tractor slid forward just enough to get everything out. Oil pan came down pretty quickly also. some light chiseling and down she came. used a motorcycle jack underneath and slid it right out. cleaned it out, new paper gasket and whamo! fired it up again today and good to go. Way less work than I thought but not a easy job by any means. Did it with the the bucket on it also.
