Ford 1500 Shibaura injection pump timing

Hello guys. Took the 2 cylinder cracked head from the Ford 1500 to a cylinder head repair shop who can weld and rebuild it for $500. It had cracks around the precombustion chambers with one going to the valve.
Now I need to take the block in so I can get it honed/bored as it had signs of rust and scratches probably developed prior to the guy I bot it from. He used it for mowing and said he bot it from a guy who had left it sitting for a while. The head gasket showed signs of leakage as well. So what I need to know is how to set it so I can remove and replace the diesel injection pump? As I understand, the engine needs to be at top dead center or somehow the injection pump gears has some marks on it somewhere that have to be lined up. Thanks. I can post some pics if needed. I don't want to remove the water and hydraulic pumps from the front until I know it is OK to do so.

The PFR injection pump USUALLY has shims between the pump mount and block, long as you use the same when going back together the pump timing will stay as is, IF the
timing gears are removed/replaced correctly.

I have a 1500 and a service manual and I can look it up for you. I work on tractors every day, all kinds and all brands but I
cannot understand why anyone would attempt an engine rebuild without a service manual. There are just too many little things
that can cost you a lot of money if you don't know the little details.

100% agree with Welding Man. The service manual is worth every penny and many are available online or on a disk.

Thanks guys. I got the service manual. It has the kiki or niki injection pump. So I just need to make sure to save the shims and make sure it is at TDC and the timing gear marks line up when it goes back together after getting everything back from the shop.

What I'm not sure about is how to make sure it is at TDC on the compression stroke now that the head is off. I assume it is when the rear piston is all the way up and the timing arrow is pointed on the zero line on the front flywheel. Just worried it may be on the exhaust stroke instead.
