O Ring problem

I have a 1954 Jubilee. Between the hydraulic pump and the manifold are two orings. One was leaking so I bought two new ones. I was able to get the rear one up into the recess that it sits in but the second one appears to be to large to push into the recess. There is very little room between the pump and the manifold plate to work. Does anyone know how I can get it in place.? Thanks in advance. Any ideas will be very much appreciated. I am ready to blow an oring myself.

I thought you were supposed to change
the rings on both ends of the manifold
at the same time. It's easy when the
other end is loose.

I am replacing both of them. I am starting to think that the od of the large ring is too big. It just will not go up into place. Now I have to find out what the Od is supposed to be.

#30 O-Ring 0.612'' ID x 0.103'' Width, Vane Pump to Pressure Tube
Makes for an O.D. of 0.818"
CNH part# 14457281 (This would be a -114 O-Ring)
I would use a 90 Duro here

#32 O-Ring 0.859'' ID x 0.139'' Width, Vane Pump to Intake
Makes for an O.D. of 1.137"
CNH part# 86553262 (This would be a -212 O-Ring)
Spec is 75 Duro, I'd use a 70 or a 90 here

Hi Thank you for the information, but mine is not like that. It has the tubes running to a 7/16 thick flat plate and the orings are between the plate and the bottom of the body of the pump. The pump is completely different than the one shone.

The plate is right, but there are two individual tubes going to the plate. I believe they call the plate a manifold. The plate is flat on top and the recess is in the body of the pump.

Hmm, diagram shows tube assembly #43 (as
opposed to manifold) at bottom for NAA.
If the diagram for the vane pump is wrong
and the diagram for the piston pump is
wrong then I don't know what you have.

Oops, sorry guys. I just saw the small inset at the bottom of the picture. Yes, I think it is 40 and 41 that I need.[/quote]
