Wiring from Starter to Glow Plug Assembly 1994 F/NH 1720

Hello all,
A new owner of an older (1994) Ford 1720 4WD here. Tractor runs fine but clearly there are some wiring idiosyncracies that crept in with the previous owner. They had the tractor for moving boats in a marina, including into the water so not surprising that wire connections corroded and were bypassed etc. I started working on replacing glow plugs and that wire harness just for good measure and noticed a broken, inline fuse that doesn't seem to belong (see picture) in the glow plug circuit just before the wire harness relay that precedes the actual connection to the glow plugs. I jumped it with a bit of plain wire and the glow plugs work and the tractor starts, but once I started tracing wires to figure things out, I noticed lots of other issues - loose connectors just dangling, interesting splices into ground wires from the starter etc, so now I think a whole new wiring job might be a good idea despite the fact the tractor works fine. (haven't tested all the lights etc because I wasn't that concerned about that stuff for what I'll be doing). Haven't got a price on replacement wiring harnesses yet but I do have the wiring diagrams so, looking for considered opinions about whether this might be doable by carefully reconnecting each circuit as it should be or just buying the whole integrated wiring harness(es) and paying someone to do it for me. I would like to learn from this but do so carefully. Cheers all and thanks.
