Ford 850 oil pump

Ford 850 gear type engine oil pump. When reassembling the pump, I see there are index marks on ea gear. Do they need to be timed with anything? Ignore them?

It's not for timing, rather it's to make sure that the idler gear is installed in the same way as the drive gear. Either both
up, or both down.
