Who is the go to for reliability? My Grandpa in law needs one on his 3000 and I don't want to do it twice.

I have been thinking of converting mine over to an alternator what's a good used one worth. The last one I replaced for a customer I picked it up at the local automotive electric repair shop. It was shinny and black and worked about $120.

bThought about it but he and I like to keep things original. Hard to believe but he bought his 3000 new in 74 and this is the first time He has needed to change the generator.

If you want to keep it original get the original generator rebuilt. If there are no shops in your area send it to 'Lafontaine Generator Exchange' to get it rebuilt - google will get you there, call and tell them what you want -
