What is correct carb for the 861 and early 4000?
I have a TSX 813 on the 4000, pretty sure that is correct.
Also a TSX 760 and a TSX 662 on the 861 tractors.

The 801, 901, and 4000 used the M/S TSX-813 unit. I think you meant the TSX-706,as I don't see any 760 unit listed. The 662 would be correct for an 801. See if this clarifies for you:

MARVEL-SCHEBLER CARBS USED ON THE FORD N-SERIES TRACTORS-

The original TSX-33 has a large round knurled splined thumbscrew as the main adjusting needle with a spring tension clamp to keep it from moving. Since the TSX-241B superseded all other N carbs, the newer Main Jet screw would be correct on any N carb. FORD UPC nomenclature designates carburetors as group #9510.

Marvel-Schebler model & (Ford Part Number):

TSX-33 (9N-9510) - thru s/n 260596

TSX-38 (2N-9510) used in 43 on Industrial Tractors and the Steel-Wheel wartime model only. Uses the double throw choke lever as a 2nd choke rod ran to the front grille. Mid 1943 declared obsolete and Ford went back to the TSX-33 as standard 2N production ramped up. The TSX-33 carb was used up thru mid-8N production.

TSX-241 (8N-9510) - thru s/n 276115

TSX-241A - thru s/n 313112

TSX-241B - thru s/n 313112 up

TSX-241C - used on early 1952 production, cheaper construction, had no econo jet
but was superseded by the TSX- 241B unit that eventually also superseded all others.

I am not sure but I thought Thousand Series Crabs used Zenith and/or Holly carbs too. Ultradog knows for sure and may chime in...

The 4 cylinder 2000/4000 series used the M-S carbs like the other pre-1965 4 cylinder tractors.

The 1965+ 2000/3000/4000/5000 series originally used Holley carbs, as did the x600 series as well. At some point they switched to the Zenith carbs for the x600 tractors and they used only the Zenith cabs on the xx10 tractors, however few of those were made as gassers. They also switched the replacement carbs for all of them at some point in the parts departments to the Zenith carbs.

Thanks Tim. Seems like they were constantly making changes and updates I guess. The carbs I have are correct for the tractors.
