Has anyone here used one of the universal replacement seats like you see at TSC on a Ford 3 cyl 3000 or 4000 ? My old original seat is really shot and I wondered how well one of these replacements would fit/work.What I have now is the OEM Ford "tip-up" style seat that allows you to raise the seat pan and tilt it to keep water off/ easier on/off. Thanks in advance for any replies.

I dont like them. I'm a little taller than average I guess at 6' 4" and they sit me up to high. Puts the steering wheel at almost knee height. I have to bend way over to reach the controls.

I have one for about 3 years now, and it's holding up well since I keep it covered when not it's not in use. For the price it's not bad, and the adjustable suspension on it treats my back good.

That style is popular as it works. I am real picky about my seats and I probably have half a dozen different types sitting around the shop where I changed out seats on various equipment to get a soft ride. I like that seat because the back rest is in the right place and the back has an adjustable angle, besides having a good price and fitting the Ford series tractors extremely easily and functionally adapted to suit.

The first thing I do is to remove the pin in the top of the shock absorber mount....sitting right there between the 2 springs on the back panel and just push it down till it stops. With that out you have about 3 and a half inches of smooth, non-jarring, deflection that you can adjust to suit you, smooth as silk. If you worry about hitting bottom with it set up for a soft ride, just go to $ General and get one of their foam toys that looks like foam pipe insulation but is in vivid colors with a much thicker wall thickness and cut off a length that fits under the seat. Bingo, problem solved.

As others said keep it out of the sun. It will last a year kept out doors or five years if shedded.

Put aftermarket seats on a 3000 and 5000 which work well. Had done this a couple of times over the years as vinyl cover wears out and the foam won't last uncovered. Investigated seat covers and could't get any. Had an upholsterer make up two for the new seats, cost as much as the seats. These tractors are sheded but our heat and high UV gets the vinyl. Have had no problems so far.

I bought this one, right here on YT, for my 3000. I like it! Ya just don't want to leave it out in the sun/weather too long.

Got them on my 3000 & my 2110. They bolted right on w/the 2 bolts that held the original seat. I like them much better!

I have them on my 4600 and 7000. They're pretty good, although the seat is not quite as big or as well cushioned as the original Grammar. The vinyl does not hold up as long, either...
