need to remove my injector pump from 6610 to have rebuilt. does the engine have to be tdc before i remove it? i see instructions for the dpa pumps and it says its not necessary due to the gear only going on one way, my tractor has the dps pump.

i havent started taking it apart yet, trying to get my game plan before i start.

does it have to be timed and will i need a puller to get the gear off?

thanks in advance

Pump is keyed to drive gear, so no need to put engine at TDC before pump removal. All you need to do is line up the key with the gear when re-installing, and lining up the mark on the pump with the zero on the timing plate.

Shaft is tapered, so yes, you will need a small puller to get it off.
