Ford 6610 head vs head

Are there any differences between the head on a series 1, 2, or 3? Going to send my head out this week and if if comes back bad, I might need a head.

I cant remember exactly, but there are 3 basic 4 cylinder heads.
The early square port, 5000 and 7000 tractors.
The next was the oval port, 6600, 7700 on up. Might be some minor changes over those models.
The last one had a slightly larger oval port, used on the 304 or 5 liter genesis engines.

There was a big change made to piston/cylinder head/intake manifold design around 1987 or so. Don't hold me to that exact date
because the NH parts system still does not show obsolete parts (supposed to be up by Jan 31st).

The older heads had smaller, somewhat oval intake ports, and the later heads had larger, more square intake ports. The older
heads had small cast iron intake manifolds, the newer heads had noticeably larger aluminum ones. Exhaust ports and manifolds
remained unchanged.

Heads are interchangeable as long as you swap intake manifolds as well. This conversion will also require a modification to
your air cleaner plumbing.

I wanna say that the 9/16" bolts came out before the major change to the piston/cylinder head design, but once again, the NH parts catalog is letting us down. Supposedly they intend to show obsolete parts by the end of this month. I'm not gonna hold my breath on that one.

I know the BSD engines had 9/16 head bolts, but I seem to remember the late 7700 with 268 blue power specials may have had 9/16 bolts. That would have been early 80s I believe.

When NH dropped the old numbers from the parts list I purchased reprint parts manuals for all of my tractor models, or so I thought.
The 10 Series parts book only covered the 3 cylinder models, and then only up to 87 when a lot of the changes where being made.
It does show the step stud block for 12/86 but there's no mention of 9/16 heads bolts or any other parts for those changes.
Very disappointed in this reprint, they should have copied at least a 91/92 publication to cover all of those models and the changes made.
I plan to purchase the 4 cylinder model parts book but want to make sure it covers all years of those models as my 6610 is a 90 model
