Ford 3000 axle seals

Hi Guys,

I just bought an old Ford 3000 and as soon as I drove it I was worried because the brakes really didn't work at all. I took off the RHS rear wheel and everything was covered in oil.

So now I need to replace the seals. I have the sizes which I got off the internet from Steiner Tractor Parts (2.050 x 2.750 x 0.5 & 3.125 x 3.880 x 0.5). Problem is I can't find anyone in Australia who has those seals.; seems like they don't exist in Australia.

So I was wondering, how common are these seals in the US, and is there any place other than Steiner that has them?

The current New Holland part numbers are 86531999 and 81823109. If you have any New Holland or Case tractor dealers down under you should be able to get them there.

Same seals as in the Fordson Dexta and (I believe) MF 135 and MF 35. Google The Fordson

they are very common and very cheap. use the new part numbers.

I have just done the same job on mine and put in new bearings as well. Do not forget to pack the bearings with grease.

Thanks for the replies and advice. By searching for New Holland parts I found a supplier. I also found some alternative part numbers.
