I just purchased a JD 400 industrial tractor with a Ford 335 loader on it. A couple of the loader cylinders leak. Where can I find parts like a repair kit. If a Google it turns out Ford made a 335 tractor. The nearest hydraulic shop is several miles from me.

If the loader has 335 on it, then it was on a 335 model tractor when it was new. Ford loaders of that time period likely to have been on a 335 tractor would have been either a 730 or 735 series loader. Look on the loader frame uprights for a metal tag with a model number stamped into the tag starting with a number like I9-423, I9-451, etc. Replace the leading I with the numeral 1 and that is the model number of the loader frame. They used several frame model numbers in each loader series.

These are frame model numbers for the 730 series:
19-425,19-426,19-427,19-453,19-498,19-516,19-512,19-513,19-528,19-529,19-532

These are frame model numbers used in the 735 series:
19-423,19-451,19-496,19-510,19-526,19-514,19-530,19-638,19-639,19-640

Thanks. The tag on the loader frame, left side near where the lift cylinder attaches at the top, says 19-335. I'll look around for another tag.

Seems to be a good loader. Easy to control and strong. It attaches to the front of the tractor, along the side at rear of engine, and to rear axles.

Bite the bullet, pull the cylinders apart and go to the hydraulic shop and have the parts matched up. If its not readily identifiable, you are spending time looking, then may find there are no kits available, and still have to go match things up to get parts. If you only have to go several miles to get to the hydraulic shop you are luckier than many. Get full descriptions and part number of the components you get and save that info in case you need more in the future. Many old kits seem to keep getting obsoleted. JMHO

the 19-335 is a 724 series loader. It should be a 1200# Loader with double-acting lift cylinders. The bucket cylinders should be double acting, making the lift cylinders the only difference here.
From the Ford Loaders 724/725 Parts Book:

The part numbers for the cylinders are as follows:
290325 bucket double acting cylinder
290337 lift double acting cylinder
290339 bucket double acting cylinder
290409 lift single acting cylinder
290533 lift double acting cylinder

How do you tell which one is yours? I don't exactly know.

There are part numbers listed in this book for every single component of the cylinders, and someone hand wrote the following for cylinder service kit numbers: (so they could be wrong)
Cylinder: Kit
290325: 309599
290337: 309677
290339: 309577
290409: 309678
290533: 309679

If this gets you to the correct solution, awesome! Otherwise, I can post photos of the pages if you like.
