hydraulic leak on 641

I'm pretty sure one of the steel lines inside the clutch compartment on dads 641 is leaking. Hydraulic fluid drips at a pretty good rate out the hole
in the small inspection plate on the bottom of the clutch housing. It's not coming from the transmission. The trans fluid I found had a fair amount of
water in it. So I draining it and replacing it. What is dripping on the floor is nice clean fluid jut like what is in the hydraulic reservoir. The
tractors hydraulics only operate the blade on the front by means of the remote valve on the top cover. Tractor has a Sherman backhoe so no 3pt.

I can find very little information on the pipes in the IT manual or in my Ford parts listings. Can find no reference to part numbers for the pipes or
any seals for the pipes. Anyone ever have a hydraulic leak inside the clutch housing?

Sounds like one of the tubes going through the tranny is leaking. They can be pulled without splitting the tractor sometimes. Try searching the archives in Modernview.

tractor guy, leaks in those hydraulic tubes are not uncommon. HOWEVER, they rust out in the transmission NOT in the bell housing. Perhaps there was a one in a million situation of a clutch failure where a piece of clutch flew off and punctured one of the tubes, but my money would be on a transmission input shaft seal. Once the leak is stopped you should take effective measures to prevent water damage.
