Used this tractor to run the square baler, no issues, mowed the lawn with a finish mower the last 2 cuttings in late Oct. No issues. Drove it around for 30-40 minutes in November. Dead battery at Christmas. Charged it up and carb was pouring gas out. Cleaned carb and as y'all may remember I put venturi in upside down...... Wife found that and fixed it. Tractor runs great. Until last weekend when we tried to bush Hog with it. Acted like governor wasn't working right. Had to open throttle in tall grass or it bogged down. Then when you hit the clutch it was turning crazy rpms. The gas line is a piece of 1/4 in copper. No sediment bowl. No screen in carb intake. Just the one in the cut off in the tank. Because trash keeps getting in carb and causing issues I added an inline filter , the day before the grass cutting issues. Got these filters on at least half my tractors with no problems. What am I missing here?

I use a clear gas filter and it never fills up. Thinking that is normal, it fills up to the point it runs out other end. Governor or fuel starvation?

Set it up correctly as it was new and I bet he problem goes away. This site has the sediment bowl assembly an the banjo bolt you need

Yes, it is starving for fuel. The tall grass puts more load on so the governor calls for more throttle, but the fuel isn't there so RPMs drop. Push the clutch in and you remove the load but the throttle is still open so it goes to high idle. How is the screen inside the tank? I have had good success cleaning tanks out by siphoning.
