ford 6610 dps injector leaking

does anyone have any idea what it would cost to have a dps injector pump off a ford 6610 gone thru and resealed?
it has a pretty constant trip while just sitting and i have to turn the fuel valve off or it will leak a good bit of fuel just sitting.

im need to take my loader off so i can get a better look but it looks to me like it is leaking where the round body slides into the main housing, and i think number 49 oring in the drawing below is probly the problem.

is this a job i should try and tackle myself? i have pretty good mechanic skills but the injector pump is the one part of tractors i have never been in.

i can find videos and writeups of rebuilding the dpa model but not the dps.

The DPS pumps are much more complicated than the DPA models are. Repair cost depends on if cam ring/scroll plates are worn. or needs the hydraulic head. I've seen them
repaired/tested run about 450, but they can also be much higher depending on internal parts wear. The DP200/210 models are even MORE complicated..

Mine started leaking recently, having read about a o-ring leak issue others had I cleaned the pump and with the engine running fuel was leaking out around the cover that is held in by a snap ring.
They say it's a simple fix but I haven't got around to mine yet.

Clean your pump and see if fuel leaks from that gold colored plug, mine is.

mine was also for sure leaking there. i replaced it couple months ago wasnt nothing hard about that. but it still seeps alittle.

took loader off and cleaned it up and it looks like the majority of the fuel is coming from around the throttle shaft coming out of the top.

Some guys will get their fingers in the old DPAs. Some work, some are train wreaks. Lets imagine working on a DPA like repairing
the transmission of a Farmall cub. The DP200 is like repairing the trans in a MX305 Case IH. Some things are better left alone. I
dont understand how a guy cant see spending 4-5 hundred bucks on a tractor that is worth 5-8 grand. If I get a train wreak in the
mail it costs more for me to repair damage/problems that a guy trying to save money caused. I can go to a flee market and buy a
cement mixer, shovels, and a trowel. Go on Utube and watch a guy lay block. Now would you want me to lay the floor and foundation
on your new home or cabin? No, how about we leave that to someone who knows what their doing. To much money invested to let the
basement wall give out and loose my house cause I wanted to save a few bucks and do my own block work. Call around and price check
apples to apples, and you will see any honest pumpman doesnt cost that much. If you cant find someone you are comfortable with feel

i see where your coming from but being a self taught mechanic has saved me thousands of dollars.

i knowed nothing about alot of stuff that i repair but so far i have completed everyone of them, including a dozer engine and powershift trans, multiple tractor engines,trans problems, splitting tractors to swap clutches or internal hydraulic pumps, i do my own tire changes. its alot of work for sure but i bet in the last 5 years alone i have saved 15-20k easily.

now on this injector pump you might be right with me being in over my head,but i have heard way to many stories of people sending in there inj. pumps and having nothing done exept resealing because of leaks and being charged 600+. there is no leak that should cost that much to fix.
