8N and 861 questions

Forum Members,
I am considering purchasing a 861 Ford from a private collection.
The price seems workable. Question is can I remove the Dearborn front end loader from the 8N and attach it to the 861? Are they close to the same size? Questioned the owner of the 861 asking if the shifting mechanism was in good condition. In research I have done it seems to hint the shifter from 3rd to reverse may be a problem. Any and all info is appreciated.

I doubt the loader will interchange
without a lot of work. 3rd / reverse will
tend to get the most use. If possible, try
to test every gear while going down a
grade. Sharply let off the throttle and
see if it pops out.

An 860 is a serious upgrade over an 8n.
Definitely worth considering.

Good info from Strum456 below.
Some loaders were made to fit both the Ns
and the Hundreds but I doubt the old pipe
frame Dearborns will. The Hundreds are
longer and the hood on them - the 800
tractors especially, is quite a bit higher.
With a torch and welder the longer part
wouldn't be too hard to adapt but the frame
that crosses over the hood would likely
make the swap unfeasible.
