parts site wierdness

I was looking at the engine mounted gear pump with the external screw-on filter used on the x600 and newer models, and the parts page for that pump claims that it fits the 1964-1975 thousand series tractors as well. I know that the pump will bolt on to the engine because the engine itself didn't change in that area, but it is misleading, at least from my viewpoint, in that people might think that they can simply buy that newer style pump and replace the old piston style pump on their 2000 or 3000 tractor and it will be a direct replacement, but I am pretty sure that you would need to replace, or at least modify, the lines between the pump and the rear axle.

This is true
I used this style pump on my Farmtrac conversion using lines I picked up at a salvage yard from a 2810

They started using this pump on the late -600 models

Ford tractor parts catalogs have never been known for their high accuracy. That said, if someone can't look at the picture in the book and see that different lines would be required, they likely have no business making the swap in the first place.
