660 clutch free play

Last Fall I fought a pto which was reluctant to engage or to stop spinning when disengaged. This is a dual clutch. Primary disk does disengage, though had occasional gear grind.
Checked free play today and it was 1.5 where should be .75-1.
When I went to adjust the nut and screw for free play, all I have is a nut and what looks to be a stud. There is no head on the screw so both turn together and the nut cant be tightened to hold position.
Am I correct there should be a head on the screw so once adjusted the free-moving nut can be tightened against the cross shaft arm? Next time I go to the tractor Ill grab the screw with vice grips and try to tighten the set nut. Once free play was properly adjusted the pto worked fine. Just wont stay that way if I cant set that nut.
Can enough clearance be achieved using a jack under the cross shaft arm with clutch pedal disconnected to replace that screw?

You are correct, there should be a head on the screw and a separate lock nut. Here is a picture of the linkage on my 860.

Thanks Michford. Guess Ill try vice grips and if it feels like Im going to mar the screw, see if I can get clearance with a bottle jack to remove and replace, and if not try to figure out threads and weld a nut on the end.

(quoted from post at 23:04:44 01/05/21) If you can't get the headless bolt out, try double nutting it to make your own bolt head.

Good suggestion. Easier than hauling the welder down there. Any idea of threads?
