Simms dampener valve broken

I opened up the governor on my 61 FSM with a Sims pneumatic Governor injection pump. I found the dampener valve broken and ordered a new one,lo and behold I found one.
It looks like it's bent and I dare not touch it for fear of breaking it and owning it. Is it supposed to be joined together at a slight angle and if so how the heck do you make sure it works in and out of the bushing? Thank you for your help

Thx!

I figured it out, the valve is a ball joint style and was kinda stuck in a position that resembled something not straight. Due to my own ignorance, I failed to realize it. I asked for another one from the supply house and both had swiveling capabilities. A bit sticky from age.
So, I keep one and send another back, I figure....should last 20 yrs then I'll be 83. Probly long enough.
thanks
