Ford 601 power steering

I am replacing 601s power steering oil seal (just below steering wheel). Cant find a matching seal in any online old parts dealer or in seal vendors catalogs. Does anyone know this parts specs and/or where to get one? Thanks!

They have them at Yt I think. Does your steering box have an original steering wheel on it? Some people swap them with other wheels that don't cover the tube up top and it let's water down the tube. you also need a felt seal that goes at the top of the tube to prevent any condensation on the shaft from getting in that way.

I do have the original wheel, I believe. The original POWER STEERING plate is still there. The tube has no felt seal but does have a metal cover for the tube just below the wheel.
The seal I am wishing to replace is immediately below this cover, and comes up flush with the top of the tube. As best I can measure, the seal is 1 13/32 o.d., 13/16 i.d. And 5/8 thick. It has a steel case on the outside and a soft(rubber?) interior.

There is no seal at the top of the tube just a wear bushing. Th seal that keeps the oil from coming out of the tube up top is at the bottom of the tube. You have to take out the 3 bolts that hold the tube down to get to it. The seal also only comes out the bottom because there's a shoulder above it. It's a little hard to drive out, maybe a real long screwdriver or such will do it. Be careful about disturbing the control valve if you're only doing the top valve. You may want to take some duck tape and make a type of pan around the area at the bottom of the control valve so you don't lose any small parts. Hold the control valve down when removing the tube and replace one or all the bolts with extra lock washers to hold it down while you work on the tube. If you have any lines that are in tension when you remove the tube the valve can lift up. I think HoBo has a post on working on the p/s valve. You need to check for any broken springs with a magnet and mark all those valve pieces with a majic marker. It also would't hurt to have an old white sheet under the tractor to catch any runaway parts. You might want to crack all your lines so you can remove them easily if you have to go deeper. There is also a seal under the control valve that keeps the p/s oil out of the gearbox. Make sure you read up before you go past the tube seal.

That's HoBo,NC for his username, you can look for his post's under that name. It might have been showcrop that posted it, try his also. You can also click on modernview and search the archives in the Ford section for Ford tractor power steering.

Notice the extra fitting on the right at the
top of the block. This goes to the right
side of the column.
Those balls are 1/4" dia. Just go to any
good hardware store and they will have them
in those boxes of misc hardware.
The horned plungers and balls go in the port
marked by the pencil.
The ring inside the spool goes to the
bottom.

Thanks for setting me straight. No easy fix for the oil dripping from the steering column. Thanks also for the tips on getting to the likely source of the leak. Looks like a winter project! Maybe some further questions as I get into it.
