I am trying to replace my steering box on my tractor and have been unable to locate a power steering gear box, only manual. Any ideas as to where I can find one?

Pumping fluid out of it.

They are made to be rebuilt when they leak. Take it apart and replace the seals and it will be good for another 40 to 50 years.

Try your Ford-NH dealer. I had a 4600 PS gearbox go out and I couldn't fix the one I had and couldn't find one. Lo and behold, he ordered a brand new
one for me.........hang onto your skivvies.......$2,000.00. But it worked and I sold it not long after that and tacked the $2k on the sale price.

Unless you have some kind of catastrophic
failure or breakage on it they are pretty
simple to rebuild.
Where are you located?
If anywhere near the Twin Cities I could do
it for you.

Some 30+ years ago I went over there and bought some parts, one was a reworked head for a 4000 4 cyl. Was very impressed with their machine shop and the manner in which they repaired (apparently crack prone) 4 cyl heads. The one I bought, that was a repaired core from another customer's exchange, never failed me. Had oodles of Ford OEM parts still in the OEM packaging.

My problem was "loose balls". 15 of them as I recall and never having done that it was a learning experience that I failed.......1 loose ball did me in. Got jammed between something in there and I broke a casting or something catastrophic. The manuals (have half a dozen around the place, OEM and A&!, took a stab at how you do it but was apparently written for a graduate of Ford Mechanics University or something of the sort!
