601 power steering

First post of the new year.

Happy New Year to all.

I live in upstate New York and I have a 1955 850 Ford.

I have an opportunity to buy the power steering from a 1957 601.

Does it fit?

What is a fair price?

Yes, it will fit... as long as you get
all the parts.
The ones I've seen for sale were around
$900-$1000 for the complete system.

Here's a parts list for you.
Column.
L&R adius rods.
L&R drag links.
Pump.
Waterneck with ear for belt adjuster.
Turnbuckle belt adjuster.
2 hyd cylinders.
2 hyd lines from pump to column.
4 hyd lines from column to cylinders.
Pully? Can't remember. Someone here will
know.
As Fordfarmer said a complete setup will
cost you most of a Grand.
To me it's worth the $.

Yes, crank pulley as well... has to be a 2-groove to run the pump.
