TW vs 8*30 series rear end and MFWD?

I have a TW35 II MFWD parts tractor in the shop with a complete MFWD front axle, driveshaft, drop box, rear axle, etc.

I know I can swap these parts onto another 2wd TW and convert it to MFWD. Could I do the same to a 30 series with a powershift? I love the PS in my 8830 and finding another in 2wd is a possibility. With the TW MFWD parts work for the swap?

Anybody know? Bern?

I'm going off memory here (disclaimer), but I'm reasonably certain that the drivetrain components are largely the same between
the TW and 8x30 series tractors. The major change would have been with the later 8x30 series when they went from the ZF to the
Dana front axle, and the transfer case changed at the same time. The only other major difference I can think of is that the
8730 was upgraded to the 8830 (TW35) final drives and brakes.

The parts book will have the definitive answers to your questions, however I'd frankly rather go to the dentist and have a
root canal done than navigate through the NH online parts catalogs.

The NH parts books since the "updates" are enough to make a preacher cuss. I have a paper parts catalog for
TW just need to find 30 series parts diagrams to compare part numbers.

My thought was to swap the 35 rear axle onto a 8*30 powershift front half. Swap the front bolster and axle. Do a PTO clutch, brake seals, and all the other odds and ends while it's apart.

I’ve looked at the new Holland parts manuals online before, only
because I wanted to do this same exact swap just the other way
around, I want to move my fwa to my tw35 and put the 2 wheel drive
axle on my 8730. From what I’ve found the part numbers are
completely the same between my 8730 and tw35 if you have the ZF
fwa axle, but I was told by a ford mechanic that I would have to
change gears in the transmission???, so I’ve gotten about as far as
you have, some say it will work perfect, some say it will involve
internal changes. I haven’t gotten around to tearing mine apart just
because I don’t have time and I’m rebuilding the pto on my 8000 at
the moment. If you do get more information or if you end up
swapping them out I’d love to know if it’s that hard of a job or not.

You should ask for more info about the need for changing gears in the transmission. You either misunderstood what he said, or he's mistaken I suspect.

My guess is that he was saying I would need to change the gears in the drop box itself (take them out of the 8730 and put them in the tw35). But if I ever end up doing it I would just take both drop boxes off completely and swap them over
