Hi all!
A month ago, I picked up a Ford 1841 Industrial Tractor through a barter. I am so STOKED, it's been the missing piece of my homestead - 4 years ago, I medically retired from the military, and bought 126 acres in Maine - I have built my own home and cleared 16 acres for farming.
I had to re-weld a hydraulic cylinder to the bucket mount. Someone put a quick attach and gnarly loader bucket (with teeth) on it. Reattach the throttle linkage (the guy literally told me these only go one speed, lol). Flush the fuel lines, which were plugged, and topped off the near empty hydraulic steering and main. Now I have a strong running (albeit leaky) beast!!!
There is diesel leaking around the fuel intake and oil from the back of the oil pan. I know those seals and gaskets need to be replaced and am sure there are more. I searched the Yesterdays tractors parts site but can't find a full Gasket kit for this model - I'd rather buy a whole set and take my time replacing things as I learn.
Does anyone know a reputable supplier that might? What are some good brands or even a OEM number to start?
Any advice for a newbie to check? Once I get a full gasket kit, I am planning on flushing everything and putting in new fluids: any preferences or suggestions?
I know you guys answer questions for the love of these tractors and helping others, and I TRULY appreciate it!!!
