Air Cleaner

I picked up a 971 from a really nice elderly gentleman. He started to do a complete restoration 25 years ago and never got it finished. He rebuilt the motor but never started it and after sitting 25 years it had issues. Had the injector pump completely rebuilt pulled injectors and lubed the cylinders and got it running. It has a SOS but if it's not good I have a good 5 sp. My problem is the air cleaner I only got part of it just a shell with no straps no inside mesh and tubing to a pre cleaner. It's the rectangle one that bolts to the manifold. Can't find the 2 straps anywhere. Just wonder if anyone on here might have a complete one or parts for mine.

Those old style rectangular box type are very hard to come by because they rusted out and got tossed.

Yes it seems that ford didn't put many spare parts in the supply chain either. My box and bottom are good just no straps was hoping someone might have a parts tractor
that still had one or parts. Think I can us copper mesh for the inside mesh part.

With a good top and bottom the straps wouldn't be hard to make. You should be able to pick up a couple feet of metal band strap from an industrial supply house or someone who works in a warehouse.

The latches on that air cleaner are called "toggle latches". They are available on Amazon. Search: "toggle latch strap". If you are prepared to do some "farmer engineering" you may be able to make this work.
