Just purchased a Ford 2000/3000 (not sure which - the only number I can read on the block is serial # C233007. Everything was beautiful = the PS pump was out and I filled with Dextron ATF - steering was fine for a couple of days..... I shredded an area today and make several really hard turns, when I got back home I noticed that ATF was coming from the base of the steering wheel - now it leaks slowly all the time. I understand that it might be just a couple of o-rings and seal. Does anyone have any knowledge of this repair. Part numbers (will 2000 vs 3000 make a diff??).
Appreciate any help.

This repair is best done with the aid of a manual. The wheel, and cowl have to come off, then the upper column has to come off. May well have to SpeediSleeve the seal land on the upper shaft. Change the filter, purge the cylinders, and fill with your favorite high quality universal trans/hyd/wet brake oil or NH 134 hyd oil. ATF is too thin, although the seal was probably bad when you bought it.

I ordered "Ford 2000-3000-4000-5000-7000 Tractor Repair Manual" - do you think this will work?? Is this something that I should do - I'm pretty good mechanic.
Do you know where to get the Speedi-sleeve??

That book should be a good guide. I have no idea whether you can handle it or not. NAPA is a good source of Speedi Sleeves.
