Ford Jubilee hydraulics

Hi all
I have a Jubilee over here the Uk, obviously a bit different to the common Fergusons and fords we have here, but I do love the little thing
But Ive been having problems with the hydraulics, after a few days of being left, they wont lift until I bleed the pump and then there fine again, Ive drained them and put in fresh oil and again fine for a few days then come back to it after 2/3 days and wont lift until I bleed them again
Im guessing must be an air leak or a valve not seating?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

If you're not seeing any fluid leaking, then I would agree with you, that the pump must be at fault. Have you checked where the tubes connect to the pump are tight?

The piston pump will be kinda round and have a 3/8 pipe plug near the top and towards the front of the pump.. The original vane pump will be configured
kinda squared in nature.

In my experience your situation suggests that the seal is leaking around the pump drive shaft. This is located in the housing section where the proof meter cable attaches. There are two versions with different bearing setups between the early and late. The early version is no longer serviced and while it's been several years, I recall having this situation and upon disassembly for R&R I was unable to fix the issue and ended up acquiring a later style pump. This is not the 'vane vs piston' pump, but rather the 'early vs later' piston pump. Note that the pump proper is unchanged between the versions, it's the bearing design associated with the pump drive shaft that is redesigned.
