Thanks for the replies on my original post about my non sleeved 132 engine in the ‘62 2000 I bought recently. I went ahead and removed the head. It will need to be
reworked as valves and guides are not good. Today I removed #1 piston so I could check the crank and see more about what I was facing. Cranks looks good and
checks good on #1. Rod bearing showing wear of course. The ring ridge was not bad enough that the piston bumped out fairly easy. My concern now is that the top ring
groove in the piston shows some wear more that the second groove. I tried measuring with caliper and come up with 3/32 on second groove and 7/64 on the top
groove. If I am figuring right that is 1/64 difference. Specs show to be groove should be 3/32 on the top two. Is this enough difference to not re-ring it if the other three
are no worse? Thanks for any help.
