Engine oil increasing

My neighbour asked me what could cause his engine oil to rise. Its a:
FORD JUBILEE
MODEL NNA
GAS ENGINE 4
1958
Dry clutch
4 spd

Im thinking gas or coolant could be entering crankcase. There is no hydraulic pump on engine and its a dry clutch. Any help appreciated.

A quick diagnostic would be to smell the dipstick. Gasoline and coolant both have very strong, and very distinct odors.

Has he added any water to the radiator ? Carefully remove the oil drain plug, if their is water, it will be the first thing to come out, as water is heavier than oil. He could have a leaking head gasket . Running it with water / antifreeze will wipe out the bearings..

NAA was built in 53-54
Does it not have 3 point lift, if it does it has a hydraulic pump mounted on the right side near the back of the engine
On his tractor increasing engine oil level is either gas getting in the oil which will make it thin, water in the oil which will make it milky or hydraulic fluid.
