Ford 8000 PTO and hydraulics issue

I’ve posted about this before but I’ve gotten a bit more information. So the issue originally was that my pto would randomly shut off while using it and it would take a bit before it would come on again, as well as the hydraulics being weak. So I talked to a friend of ours who was a ford mechanic and he said the pumps were probably wore and he did a pressure test and got low pressure readings, (non-dual power tractor). And just the other day I was on the phone and I leaned on the 3-point arms and they dropped a bit and sprung back up when I got off which tells me there’s air in the system. I was wondering if the hydraulic pump and pto piggyback pump shared a pickup tube. I also seem to remember the rear end being way over full when I first bought the tractor as if they knew it was an issue

Does your 8000 have a hydraulic filter on the left side of the tractor? If it does then it has the upgraded filter. If not the only filter it has is a suction screen.

The filter juniur is referring to is on the LH side of the tractor just behind the transmission. The filter is like 8" or so in diameter, much bigger than the one on the RH side.

That said, regardless of whether or not it has that filter, the system can still suck air if the intake pipe going into the pump is not seated correctly. And, it is quite normal for the 3-point to be spongy on those tractors. It is not caused by the pump sucking air, I can guarantee you that.

I frankly think that your weak hydraulics are caused by a worn pump. And yes, both pumps share the same intake.
