1000 series deluxe seat suspension frame

Just throwing this out there. I have been
looking for the flat bar springs that the
early deluxe seat frames use for a while
now. Last month I came across an ad from
Korves Oliver's that showed some flat
torsion springs that were for the 50 and 55
series tractors. I called them up and told
them what I was trying to fix and they were
happy to give me the dimensions of their
springs and they were happy to give me the
dimensions of their springs. They ended up
being almost the exact same size as my
broken springs. So I ordered a set to try
on a seat frame that I had that was in
great shape except for the broken springs.
I installed them and they fit like a glove
and today I finally installed the seat and
I am very happy with the results. So if you
have a seat that needs them give them a
call if you want. Sorry for long post!!

Was it hard to replace the spring?
IMO those are the best seats and they have the best suspension. Have them on 2 of my tractors.
I have "restored" a couple of those suspension seats. Not the torsion springs tho. They were still good.
I bought the bronze bushings for the suspension at my local hardware store.
Exact fit except I had to cut them shorter.
I have one of those suspensions here that I saved. Would give it to you if you wanted to pay the shipping on it.
 
The springs are real easy to replace once you get the halves apart. The tube portion of the frame is usually nice and rusty and kind of stuck together. I am interested in your frame so I will email you. Thanks
 

That's good to know but I pulled the last of those seats off my 4000SU this year, the cushion cracked and water got in the foam, it would soak my jeans when I sit down. A new cushion was nearly 3 times more than the cheap replacement seats and the old cushion was only 4 years old.
