Ford 3 cylinder diesel 4000 engine tachometer change over

Is there a kit to change over from the generator/ alternator to the engine tach (under the oil filter)? It looks like there's a freeze plug under the oil filter. The motor is a 1968 (what the numbers on the stamped spot on the transmission). Then I noticed on our 1970 gas 4000 3 cylinder motor, where that freeze plug is, there's a spot for a breaker bar to turn it out. The alternator might be crapping the bed soon.

They changed the block design partway through the 3 cylinder thousand series, and only the later ones will work with the oil pump tach drive like the later x600 series tractors have. I believe that the changeover was somewhere around 1970 but I'm not 100% sure. I also believe that if that spot looks like a press-in freeze plug then it is the earlier block and will not handle the tach drive, and the ones that have the threaded plug with the recessed square drive are the later ones that will work.

Sorry, I see from Fordfarmer's reply that I must have gotten it backwards, as he says that the screw-in type won't work with the oil pump tach drive.

Thank you, I saw Fordfarmer post. Last night I forgot to post the pictures. I would have though vice versa.
