Rusty Rear Wheel 1968 Ford 4000

Hey all,
It is finally time to change out my rear wheel. The Ballast has mostly leaked out over the years but not before rendering the rim useless. It has 8 lugs and looks like the center is still good but riveted on instead of bolted (so needs to be cut?) I got a quote from the local tractor wheel place - to cut center out, weld it back onto a new rim loop, buy new tube and tire and ballast it is $1700!

Was wondering if you guys had a suggestion to beat that price. Seems like that would be on the high end. I'm located in Maine in case y'all know anyone. I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks!

Email me and I'll share my secret used parts source for the wheel their price will be 50% of new plus freight...BKT is a decent
brand of tire. You don't mention tire size but could be 28" or 39" and you will want to match width to other side rim. Never heard
of a Ford with rim riveted to wheel. Rim you can get from aftermarket source such as All States Tractor parts, ditto rim bolts.
Tire and tube can be ordered in by your local tire store and they may be willing to mount it and the new tube. Recommend you look
for local independent shop to load tire after installation on tractor (deliver entire tractor to shop for the loading) or perhaps
you could do all your purchasing on line and then take it all to the tractor shop for assembly. May I assume you are not the 1st
owner of this tractor?

This is no help to you as I am in uk ... in 2000. I
bought john deere 2040 with badly damaged outer
36 inch rim so I cut off damaged rim and welded rim
from old major wheel and it worked good until sold
4 years ago . I know tyres are more expensive
across the pond but the price seems excessive

Tire size says 16.9-30
other tire says 16.9 /14-30

Yeah they would probably have it ordered to the shop if I asked. I am not the first owner, no.
